Sharon Wharton, LCSW
Psychotherapist

If you've been carrying the weight of the past for too long, you might feel exhausted, with little hope that you'll find peace. Maybe memories intrude when you least expect them, or you find yourself stuck in patterns you can't seem to change. I offer a safe, compassionate space where your story will be heard without judgment and your healing process will be honored.

I live in Estes Park, and provide tele-therapy to residents of Colorado.

My approach is trauma-informed, which means we'll work at a pace that feels safe for you, always prioritizing your sense of control and choice. I use a variety of evidence-based strategies to help you shift unhelpful thought patterns and build healthier coping skills, including EMDR and CBT.

I strongly believe in the importance of developing a foundation of self-compassion, and this is at the heart of my practice. Being kinder to yourself has been shown in research to decrease anxiety and depression, and increase a sense of connection with others. Healing is possible, and you don't have to walk the path alone.
I provide telehealth to Colorado residents. To schedule a free 20 min. consultation, contact me directly.
Client experiences:
I appreciate that Sharon doesn't waste any time. She doesn't string you along, she really works to help you every minute. Sharon is great for those who are proactive about their well-being and she focuses on helping you build your mental "tool-belt". B.H.
What I value most about Sharon is how she balances warmth with gentle challenge. She creates a space that feels safe and accepting, yet she also encourages growth and deeper understanding. Because of our work together, I feel more at peace, more confident, and more connected to myself than I’ve ever been. -K.M.
I have seen therapists over periods of time throughout my life. If you had told me some of the greatest insights would come from someone I had never even met in person, I would not have believed you. But Sharon Wharton is incredible. Compassionate, wise, generous with her time and resources - and a straight-shooter. She is not here to placate you; she is here to help clients learn, reassess and grow. I am grateful for her counsel. -M.R.
