It is all too common that we cope with grief and loss by being hard on ourselves, withdrawing in shame, or disconnecting from what nourishes us.

I provide counseling to individuals, couples and families in Longmont, Colorado. My background is in hospice care, and I've worked with families both before and after the loss of their loved one.
My counseling style has been shaped by the people who have trusted me to walk with them in their darkest times. I use techniques from several therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Shame Resilience Theory, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Even in times of incredible loss, I believe we can access a peaceful place within ourselves by practicing self-compassion, and telling the story of our life in a way that empowers rather than limits us.
